Vista printer to shared XP printer

From a Vista pc I can install a shared printer in a Win XP box, but when I
print nothing happens. I was wondering if this is a Vista flaw or just a
setup issue on my part.

Re: Vista printer to shared XP printer

I'm having a somewhat similar issue. I have a desktop running windows XP
with a shared printer. When i try to install the printer on a laptop with
Vista through the network, i get an "Access Denied" message. I have gone
through the procedure mentioned above with no success.

Any help is appreciated..

Re: Vista printer to shared XP printer

Can the XP PC 'see' the files and folders on the Vista PC?

In the Networking Center on the Vista PC, is the printer shared?

Re: Vista printer to shared XP printer

Actually the other way around. Can the Vista machine see the shared driver
files that are installed on XP?

dir \\XPmachine\print$

you should get a directory list. If you get access denied, that's the
issue.
