Vista - vista ultimate and faxing

I am running Vista Ultimate and am connected to a digital panasonic phone
system at my office. I used to use Winfax withWindows XP with no problems. is
there a way to send faxes with Vista as i receive line busy errors

Fax cannot use digital lines. Never could.

Modem Faxing has always been and will remain an analog line application. You
can hire Internet faxing services to handle faxing needs if your only
connection is digital.

Don't some DSL lines have both digital and analog "bundles" in the
cable?

You tell us.
Faxing requires analog phone lines and an analog modem. Therefore, sending a
fax by DSL requires one of two methods:

1. You obtain a DSL line filter suitable for connecting a standard voice
telephone to the DSL line, then connect a regular analog fax modem to the
line through the line filter. Your DSL provider has these filters, as does
your local Radio Shack store:

If your Panasonic system is anything like our Siemens digital phone system,
connecting an analog device (telephone, modem, Fax machine, etc.) to it
requires an adapter to convert the digital line to analog. In Siemens'
case, they manufacture the device, it connects to the digital telephone, and
provides an analog phone jack with a different phone extension number than
the digital telephone its attached to. If you have something like this that
you're attempting to use, it should work under Vista. I say *should*
because I'm assuming you're using Vista Fax & Scan and not WinFax on the
Vista machine and it, like other Windows originated Fax systems, is more
critical of phone line conditions and wiring than third party applications
appear to be. Does any of this match your circumstances?
