View Ink Cartridge Level

Previously I had a Windows 2000 PC w/an HPF350 printer/scanner/copier...I
was able to open the printer icon and view the printer ink levels and also
when I installed a new ink cartridge, I had to aline the printer again. A
software program always popped up on my monitor giving me this info. Now
w/Vista I can't find any of that info. Where do I look. Otherwise printer
works great w/Vista.

This is a function of the printer drivers. If you are using the basic
drivers that came with Vista, the function probably isn't included. Look
on HP's support site for your specific model printer. If they have their
own updated drivers, use those. If they don't because your printer is
older (and I assume it is older since you had it on a Win2k box), then
I'm sorry but the function will not be available in Vista.

Re: View Ink Cartridge Level

You need the new drivers from HP's website:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...128314&lang=en

Uninstall the printer as it is at the moment, and disconnect it from the PC.
Download the software.

Run the software and DO NOT connect the printer to the PC until the software
tells you to do so.
