| Guest | Vista printing with mandatory profiles I have a Windows 2003 Server (R1) with Vista Business Clients. I have configured a mandatory profile and it works fine except for printing. The server shares 2 printers (HP Laserjets 3500 & 6P). When I print to the HP3500 from Word I get an error but this works ok if I install the printer locally on that PC - I thought the drivers would be downloaded automatically from the server?. I have already downloaded the Vista compatiable drivers for the HP3500 onto the print server. If a user also trys to print to the HP Laserjet 6p they get asked to install the driver - shouldn't this also be installed from the server automatically. The network printers were installed when I set up the mandatory profile on a client PC. I didn't have these issues when I had Windows XP Pro on the PC's. Thanks |

| Guest | Re: Vista printing with mandatory profiles I think I have sorted this problem - I found a MS Whitepaper on "Point and Print Security" that contains new settings for Group Policy that relate to Vista..
