hp laserjet 1012 windows update problem

an update arrived on my Vista PC on 5/21: "Hewlett Packard - other
hardware - hp laserjet 1012". This was great news since my hp1012
will not print both sides of the page since I upgraded from XP to
Vista.

Problem is the install fails every time. 800F020B 80070103.

I have turned off the printer, deleted it from control panel,
printers. ( I am using the hp1015 drivers )

At the HP site the drivers for the hp1012 still dont include Vista
support.

What is this update intended to correct and how do I get it to install
properly?

thanks,

Re: hp laserjet 1012 windows update problem

I had the same problem but I finally got the hp1012 installed. I wish I wrote the recipie down but through a combination of deleting the hp1015 printer, removing evidence of the printer from the device manager, cycling power on the printer then allowing it to search for new drivers the hp1012 installed. It's been working for a few weeks. Don't give up.
