| | Driver automatically reinstalls when printer is turned on I've got an HP C6180 AOI, running on Vista. We've had numerous problems with the drivers and app but have managed to resolve them. But this week, everytime we turn the printer on, it causes the driver to be reinstalled. (We sometimes have large print jobs that causes the printing to bog down. A reboot of the printer seems to help this.) When the driver reinstalls, settings are reset to defaults and other users on the network have to delete the printer and reinstall it. Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it? Thanks, Joe |

| | Re: Driver automatically reinstalls when printer is turned on You are not the only one with this. I don't know the answer except it may indicate an incomplete installation. The other user (not here in VISTA) reported that it kept asking for a specific tmp file that could not be found. Did you have UAC turned on or off when installing the printer software? Having it OFF upsets Acrobat Reader installation, I know, and that is to do with not being able to access a tmp file. |
