Canon N1220U - not recognized in Vista

I have used a Cannon N1220U scanner with XP for a long time.

When I moved to Vista and try to use the device I receive an error message
as follows "there is no application registered for this event"

I can see the device in the device manager and the "Device status" indicates
"This device is working properly."

Any recomendations.

Is there a Vista driver for this scanner? If so, have you loaded it? I don't
know about Canon but HP is terrible about providing Vista drivers for their
older devices (even my 1.5 year old AIO). Check their web site.

There aren't any Canon N1220u drivers for Vista but there are drivers for
the N1240u so try those instead. The differences betwen the two models are
negligable.
