trouble printing and saving

Everytime I try to print it asks me to save. So I save and then hit print
and it keeps asking me to save over and over! I can't get it to let me
print! Help!

Erm... give us a clue... from which application are you trying to print and
or save.

Re: trouble printing and saving

What printer are you trying to print to?
It sounds like you're printing to a file..
ie Journal Note Writer, Microsoft Office Document Image Writer, or Microsoft
XPS Document Writer

Re: trouble printing and saving

Hi Dave,

I only have one printer and it was working fine and now, not. When I go to
print it sends me to a save screen and won't allow me to print anything. I
can't firure out what changed because I didn't change anything. Printer shows
as being default printer etc.

Re: trouble printing and saving

Have you tried removing the printer, and reinstalling it?
Start - Printers - Delete this printer

Re: trouble printing and saving

Dave,

I've tried everything. I can use the tab in the task bar to open the
printer and task it to scan something. It does, but when you try to make it
print, it pops up a save screen. Like what you are describing, as saving to
a file.

Re: trouble printing and saving

Dave,

I'm having other issues too. Like "Windows One Care" Status is fair not
good. When I click help I do what it says but nothing changes.

Re: trouble printing and saving

Chaz,

Alright, slow down here. It really sounds like you have a second printer
queue on your system, one that points to something that saves to files,
rather than to your printer. Can you please look at the Printers folder
(Control Panel -> Printers) and see how many print queues you have on your
system?

If you do have a printer queue that points to a printer (the name will say
something like the printer name on the printer you have), then go to the
properties dialog (right click & select properties), and click on "Print
Test Page". If that works then just make sure you've selected that queue
from any application you print from.

If any of the stuff above doesn't work, please describe it with a bit more
detail. Use steps to describe what you are doing so we can't accidentally
make mistakes when trying to reproduce the problem you are seeing.

Thanks,
Dan
