| | Incompatible ink cartridge? I have an Epson printer which was working fine on my Windows XP computer. I bought some Epson compatible ink cartriges (not Epson brand), and it too was working fine on my computer. I got a new printer, gave the Epson to my friend who has Vista. After we downloaded the software for his computer, and hooked up the printer, the printer did not recognize the ink cartridges on his computer. AND... it then didn't recognize it on my computer with Windows XP! What's going on here? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm planning on getting rid of the printer anyways since the darn ink costs way too much if I have to buy Epson brand ink! |

| | Re: Incompatible ink cartridge? How long was the printer not in use? Epson printers have to be used almost continuously (at least once every day) or their cartridges clog. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "Jill" <Jill@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C4532A1F-3724-45E5-96A5-2B89040A71CF@microsoft.com... >I have an Epson printer which was working fine on my Windows XP computer. >I > bought some Epson compatible ink cartriges (not Epson brand), and it too > was > working fine on my computer. | | Re: Incompatible ink cartridge? Thanks Carl- unfortunately the printer is only a few months old (and even then not used much) and Epson ink for this printer is really expensive! So looks like I will be getting a new printer anyways! "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > Most people have!
