Vista - Epson 4990 Scanner problem

I've been forced to buy a new computer which came with Vista installed. I've
been able to get most of my applications reinstalled, however I spend most of
my time working with photos and my current big project is scanning in a few
hundred 4x5 negatives. I've installed the new Epson 4990 Vista drivers
(32bit) and the scanner does fine with reflective items but will not
recognized negatives. I have the same problem with the built-in scanner on
my Epson RX-500. The 4990 is using the firewire connection and the RX-500
uses a USB connection.

Contact Epson. Those features may not be included in their Vista drivers.
