Vista - Error printing to a lexmark

Help please, I have installed a lexmark z816 onto a new Vista (premium)
laptop,printer installs and comes up with an Icon for it and is set as the
default printer,but when you go to print it wont do anything just comes up
with the error message - "Test page failed to print would you like to view
the print troubleshooter for assistance,operation could not be completed
(error 0x00000716)", print troubleshooter no help whatsoever, does anyone
know what this error code is?, any help would be greatly appreciated!. p.s.
printer is about 3 years old?

I wish I could help. Mine was working (Lexmark 5200 series) and now does
not. It does everything but print. When I go to print it sends me a save
screen and when I close the screen I get an error message. never used to do
that. I don't know what changed because I didn't change anything.

Do you have the newest drivers?

FYI the error returned. Hope the latest driver solves the issue.

go to lexmark website and click on vista downloads and download vista drivers
for your z816 printer. I deleted mine (5200 series) and then went to the
website and downloaded from there. My disc that came with my printer wasn't
good enough or new enough I guess.

I am also having trouble downloading the printer driver. I have a LG laptop
with windows vista and an ASUS with windows XP. My lexmark all in one center
X1150 works perfectly on the Asus XP windows. I have tried downloading the
driver for windows vista lexmark upgrade however still get the error message
the others have encountered.
