Vista - Cant print from my laptop

I can't get my new laptop to print using my wireless network. My apple
macbook prints fine over the network so i know its not the networks fault.
My laptop recognizes my network, does online using the network, it even shows
my printer when i select the network but it will not print. Could this be a
issue between vista and xp. My desktop is the only thing wired to my printer
or router and it is running xp while my laptop is using vista. Any help
would be appreciated.

At what point does the install of the printer (on the wireless PC) fail and
what's the error message?

I can't remember right now. When I try to install the printer it doesn't
recognize it at all even if i give it the right ip address but if i check the
network its there. Any time i try to access the printer on this computer on
my network i message box pops up and tells my access is denied. Its kind of
confusing that the computer recognizes it on the network but won't let my
install it on this computer.

So the printer has a network card? Just create a local printer using a
Standard TCP/IP Port to the IP of the printer
