| | HP Photosmart 6130 is lost from available printers My friend is running Vista Home Premium and has an HP Photosmart 6130 printer connected wirelessly. About once a month it disappears from the list of available printers. My son is running Vista 64 Ultiamte with an HP Photosmart 7XXX printer, also connected wirelessly, and has the same issue. If you run the HP driver install it says the printer is there. If you run the uninstall it says the device is not completely installed but offers to remove the remainder of the software, After running that it can be reinstalled. My son has luck using the sequence Add New Printer, Network Printer, and picking the printer from the list but that does not seem to work for my friend. Has anyone heard of the issue and/or know of a fix for it? |

| | Re: HP Photosmart 6130 is lost from available printers HP has an application running that deletes the printer if it does not detect the device (that'd be a network thing). Check in some more posts from 3 to 4 weeks ago. The solution was to disable the HP software. -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];kbhowto This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
