I installed the updated drivers from the Dell site for my printer and since
then I can not get any "communication" between printer and my vista based
computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least five times...Dell
won't talk to me unless I pay an additional $49 for support.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

I had the same problem with my Dell AOI 926 printer. Had to install the
software AFTER connecting and turning on the printer. Opposite to how most
USB devices install.

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I have the same problem.

I have the same problem with my 966 Photo AIO. The supposed "Vista Ready"
DL's at the Dell site are useless. I can scan with 3rd party software, as
well as Fax the same way, but the Dell AIO control center is permanently "Not
Responding", like alot of other things under Windows these days.
