Vista - Cannot open Fax Settings to configure Fax Device

Hi,

i have following Problem.
After i started Windows Fax and Scan under my Vista Ultimate x64 Version i
wanted to configure my FAX Modem.
But the Problem is that when i click Tools--->Fax Settings... or
Tools--->Fax Accounts... nothing happens.
I allready deinstalled the application ---> rebooted and ---> installed
again, but the problem persist.
I also started the application as Administrator, but with the same behaviour.
I have a Brother MFC 7420 Multi-Function Laser Print/Scan/Fax Device.
I would like to use it with the integrated Vista Software under Vista x64.
With the Brother Software via Printing to the "Brother Fax Device Printer"
all works fine.

Have you any suggestions ?

The problem is that you don't have a Fax modem; your Brother MFC 7420 cannot
be used as a Fax modem by Fax and Scan, you need a real modem for this. The
only way to use the 7420 for faxing from your computer is the Brother
software you're already using.
