| | Dell Photo AIO printer 924 doesn't work in Vista-Why? Please help me! I've installed the driver and checked the firewall settings and I keep getting the message that I can't print because the computer and printer are not "communicating". What do I do? |

| vista home premium | Re: Dell Photo AIO printer 924 doesn't work in Vista-Why? stall and re-install I get the same issues with my lexmark z816. Cannot get answers from lexmark or this forum. Computer recognizes the usb printer and installs the drivers to usb001 virtual port, but cannot communicate to print. |

I have tried both ways, running lexmarks exe file which then prompts a usb connection, and then uninstalling and going with a usb insert install. both ways come up with a communication error. changed cables, changed usb ports, but if I connect either of my laptops to the printer I have no issues. I turned off my firewall just to make sure, and I just discovered an "active armor" firewall that is running and at the moment I cannot find a way to turn it off, but I don't think that will fix the problem.
