Windows Firewall Problem

Every time I boot up my Vista Home Premium machine Windows Firewall is
turned off. I have to manually turn it on EVERY time I boot up. It doesn't
matter if the WIFI I'm using is set for "Public" or "Private". How do I
change the Windows Firewall settings to turn on the firewall regardless of
the type of WIFI connection I'm using?

Re: Windows Firewall Problem

If you are using Windows Live OneCare, it disables the native Vista firewall and
uses it's own firewall.

Or if the OP has another third-party security suite such as Norton or
McAfee.

Re: Windows Firewall Problem

I have the same situation. It only happened about 2 weeks ago without my
installing any new softwear.
Could it be due to one of the security updates ?

Re: Windows Firewall Problem

Are you running Windows Live OneCare? I believe it disables the standard
firewall, because it has it's own.

Re: Windows Firewall Problem

No, I don't use LiveOne Care. My Windows defender is turned off as well when
I reboot.

Re: Windows Firewall Problem

Yes, Windows Live One Care Firewall was running. Which one is better, WLOC
or Windows Firewall?
