Vista - McAfee virusScan Enterprise 8.5.0i stop frequently in Vista 32/64

I have a VirusScan Enterprise 8.5.0i from my university. It works fine in
XP. But in Vista (one vista 32bit home premium and the other vista 64bit
business), it often stops from time to time automatically, then the vista's
security center pops up the alert, I have to rerun it (UAC will pops up and
confirms the access). I suspect it has something to do with UAC. But I am
not very sure. Any suggestion? Thanks.

I don't know how pertinent this is, but the latest BitDefender ISS has been
doing the same thing--stopping suddenly and for no apparent reason. Only, in
this case the BD automatic virus scanner says (I paraphrase): "Uh, I can't
go on. I will email SoftWin the details and restart myself."
