Windows Vista Can't use WindowsUpdate?

I used WindowsUpdate with vista to update the windows system, but after
windows told me to reboot, I found the windows don't update to the newer
version.
WindowsUpdate with vista also told me to update(these updating packeges I
have updated).
How to solve this problem?
Thanks.
