I have a security center symbol shield on one of my desktop icons. What does
that mean, and how can I get rid of it?

Re: Security Center Shield On A Desktop Icon

It means that the program requires UAC comfirmation or admin rights.

Re: Security Center Shield On A Desktop Icon

It is a software update program for my laptop. I have a Toshiba laptop. Is
there a way to disable this,or not?

What do you mean nothing happened? If you select "Run As Administrator" and
the shortcut points to an executable then the program should run. If it
