Vista - I accidently opted out of microsoft update, can i get it back?

I accidentally opted out of microsoft update on the windows update change
settings screen is there anyway to get it back? I've tried to get it back but
it doesn't show a box to check. Help me please.

How to change general Windows Update settings (you may have to run as
administrator):

Microsoft recommend you opt for "Install updates automatically" on a daily
basis.

If you've passed on an update, you should still be able to find it in the
Windows Update log. You can also download updates directly from Microsoft
Download Center:

Thank you very much! So i can still get updates from Microsoft even if I
unchecked the opt out of microsoft update? That's ok though thank you you've
been a lot of help.

You can, just take a look in the log. You will also find the KB number there
(the update's "ID"). Glad to help.
