Kaspersky security

My Pc came with a preinstalled Norton Internet Security, which is expired
after 90 days (as usual).
Now I can get from my Bank a free Kaspersky Internet Security for 6 months.
Before I download it I checked the FAQ and found this:

" If Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is installed, all other Anti
Virus programs have to be deinstalled."

My question: what happens when I uninstall the Norton Protection
Center, which indicates still Virus Protection ????
Thanks

RE: Kaspersky security

Hi swisscanada,

This is a standard warning from most, if not all, anti-virus vendors. Having
more than one anti-virus program installed and running on a computer at the
same time is not recommended as it could lead to false positive reports from
one or more of the programs. Follow the instructions from Symantec (link
given below). When ALL Norton programs are uninstalled from your system, you
should have no trouble in installing Kaspersky.

Re: Kaspersky security

Your Norton subscription expired, hence your virus & Norton updates are not
upto date.
Uninstal Norton, activate windows Firewall, install Kaspersky, which will
disable the win Firewall

RE: Kaspersky security

No anti-virus product is good beyond its subscription date. The subscription
must be renewed when it expires or you will not receive new virus
definitions; therefore, your anti-virus will be ineffective against all
emerging infections.

As advised, remove your expired anti-virus program and install Kaspersky.
If the Kaspersky subscription is only good for six months, you will need to
decide whether you want to renew the Kaspersky subscription at that time. If
not, you will need to choose another anti-virus program.

Always have one good resident anti-virus that is active and capable of
updating its virus definitions. Never have more than one anti-virus program.

Re: Kaspersky security

Norton expired - that mean: your are not protected against malicious code.
Immediately uninstall norton and install Kaspersky.
