Vista - XP & Vista

I have a desktop running XP and a laptop running Vista. I want to use a
usbdisk to contain a copy of the My documents folder I want the My documents
folder to be sync'd with both systems. I have a problem with Vista in that I
can't run synctop as administrator. and some files on the usb drive can not
be overwritten by synctoy on vista. I also had a problem removing a folder
from the usb drive that was created on the XP on the Vista system.
What the heck do I have to do to get this security stuff working. I knew I
should not have bought the laptop with Vista on it. I can't say here what I
really think of Vista.
My 825MHz laptop runs things faster than this new 2ghz dual core laptop.

for the easy solution

1. make sure your account on Vista has administrative previleges
2. On Vista, Start >> Control panel >> User Account >> User Account again>>
Turn User Account Control on or off
Uncheck the box and click OK, this will turn off the "User Account Control"
of Vista.

note: turning off User Account Control will reduce your security of Vista.

and then click on the Security tab. Click Edit and confirm you want to
elevate, then change the permissions to ensure the users group, or your user
account has full write access to the drive. Do the same on the Windows XP
machine too.

2) Why bother with a USB drive at all? Use Offline Files over the network.
Share whichever folders you want on the desktop, browse to them on your
laptop and check them as available offline.
If you don't like it return it and get a refund.
