service pack 1

hey,
i'm new to vista and i want to check if my computer has SP1, how do i do
that? and if it doesn't have SP1, what is the best way to go about getting it?

Hi Martin,

This will show you how to see if have the SP1 in "System" properties. If you do not, then you can see how to install the latest version of the "SP1 RC Release" that has been released to the public. The final SP1 version is suppose to be released in mid March to mid April though.

Some programming languages manage to absorb change but withstand
progress.

Further to both Brink and Paul's advice, since SP1 was only officially
released to manufacturing (RTM) yesterday, I don't think you'll find it
anywhere for a while quite yet. You may have installed a pre-release
version which you'll want to uninstall, but you won't find SP1 on any
computers, DVDs or from any reliable source yet.

FYI unless turned off SP1 RC places a Build 6000.1(Something like that
,there is a one if SP1)... in the lower right part of your screen
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
*PaintDeskyopVersion = 1*
will turn it on if it is off. This is your Windows version..

Press the Windows key and Pause. The sheet that comes up will tell you if you have SP1 or not
