adware win32

Help!! Windows Defender Scan keeps saying i have Adware:Win32/Generic.A High
Threat.
I click on remove all but when i run the scan again it reappears!! I also
have spyware terminator and that picks up
C:\...AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\low\hayley@xxxxxx[1].txt and
this keeps reappearing also! Any help with this would be fantastic as i am
still a learner!!!! Cheers

There's a few evilware programs that I recommend. You can see my list by visiting this link: Short List of Utilities for Vista

I hope this helps.

Win32/Generic.A is a false positive - it's detecting some signature
information from Spyware Terminator.

Spyware Terminator is picking up the fact that you're visiting sites that
have adverts on them from Microsoft's advertising service. The cookie tracks
you on subsequent visits, so that you don't see the same advert more
frequently than any other, or so that you don't get counted twice for
charging the advertiser, or for sinister sneaky purposes that will in some
way or other manage to allow the advertiser to know your inside leg
measurement and whether your eyes are too close together.

I would ignore them both.

Alun.
