Well, a guy could Google for < uninstall Norton > then guy would be
directed to a website which provide a "Norton Removal Tool" suitable for
the guys requirements.
http://service1.symantec.com/Support...05033108162039
The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003
products and Norton 360 from your computer.
Then, the guy could/should do some more research... He may conclude that
AVG may not be the most (free) efficient AV apps available and find that
(free) AntiVir® is currently an unrivaled (free) AV application.
Avira AntiVir® PersonalEdition Classic - Free
http://www.free-av.com/antivirus/allinonen.html
You may wish to consider removing the 'AntiVir Nagscreen'
http://www.elitekiller.com/files/dis...ntivir_nag.htm

But then again, its all to the guy :-)
Good luck!

This is the correct link to the Removal Tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support...05033108162039

In addition to Dave T's advice, I suggest you run the removal tool two or
three times, rebooting after each run. The tool is not able rid a computer
from all of Norton's software in just one run, in fact residue will probably
be left behind even when using it multiple times.

Above is the link for Norton Removal Tool; if using Norton.

Vista’s Firewall is very good!

http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Above is a link to Avast Free 4 Home Anti-Virus
It is low resource using, free and Vista 32bit and 64bit compatible.
Only have one (1) anti-virus installed; more than 1 can cause conflicts.

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

For Spyware removal, use the above link to “Spybot Search & Destroy 1.5.2”
Download it, install it, update it, immunize your system and scan your
System with it.

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/

For a non-scanning, but running in the background, Program to STOP Spyware
being downloaded to your Computer, use SpywareBlaster 4, available at the
above link.

Yes, thanks for the correction Charlie. The link I gave him was for the
benefit of anyone else reading the post who possibly wanted to use it on
a different OS. It was one page up from your link, where you must
specify your OS before proceeding.
