| | Permissions problewms I keep running into situations with newly installed programs (for structural reasons I have my program files folder on a partition labed "P:") When I install a program I am asked for UAC permission. Once installed, it runs fine, until I reboot! After rebooting my shortcuts to the newly installed program are generic and cannot access the program folder. nor can I get to it witrh explorer. I can go in and manually resedt the permissions to allow acess, but I don't understand how this is all "supposed" to work. Can someone point me to documentation that explains the "proper use" in this situation?? Why does it work initially but not subsequently? What level of permission should I be setting to which user group and how do I fugure this out?? Thanks, Chuck Brotman |
