Is that an overkill ?

Hello everyone,
I have a feeling that I got "carried away" installing all those "protection" programs. I have : --
McAfee, CCleaner, Spybot Search&Destroy, WinDirtStat, Ad-Aware 2007(free), SuperAntiSpyware(free), Auslogic Disk Defrag.
Should I get rid of one or two programs ?

Re: Is that an overkill ?

I'd get rid of WinDirtStat - I believe it was designed for win9* - &
Auslogic - not really neccessary
The free versions of SpyBot & Adaware only run if you explicitly run them,
generally they do no harm
I only use CCleaner to clear temp files
McAfee, if its the antiVirus app, then you have to pay for a subscription,
after the trial period. And I'd be surprised if your new PC didnt come with
a trail of some AV app

Doesn't look to bad to me. I run quite a few maintenance applications. The
only thing that will cause problems is software running in memory. Such as
McAfee, I'd get rid of that and use Anti-Vir or AVG or some other freeware
virus applications.

Re: Is that an overkill ?

Its not much of a trouble just batch them up not to run all together
specially in realtime - designate a time schedule for some and for the
priority
