Antivus 2008

I have recently had something called antivirus 2008 show up on my computer.
I also just found out a friend of mine has one called vista antivirus 2008.
It constantly interferes with the running of our computers bringing up popup
boxes stating it is scanning and there are xxx number of problems. If you
click remove or fix button it then asks do you want a license and for a fee
ranging from about $34.95 on up it tries to prompt you to purchase the
license.

I am not interested in this, am very frustrated, have tried to uninstall
etc....it comes right back within 30 secs and here we go again.

Help please if you can.

Your time and attention are greatly appreciated.

It is a rogue anti-malware application. To remove it see the details on this
