| Newbie Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Vista Shutdown Security I leave my pc running to allow various programs to run during the course of the day; however, other users manage to shutdown the system without any thought for my login "at work". Does anybody know of a "Shutdown Password" facility I can use which prevents this from happening? I know I'm still at risk from the power supply being switched off - but this measure will certainly help. Any suggestions??? |

| Guest | Re: Vista Shutdown Security Just press [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Del] to lock the workstation. All your programs will continue to run. Assuming no one else knows your password, no one will be able to get back to the start menu to shut down your computer. They could, however, yank the power cable ![]() -- Steve Riley steve.riley@xxxxxx http://blogs.technet.com/steriley http://www.protectyourwindowsnetwork.com "lushman" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:eb63f4f201545bee93b6b731f231fd48@xxxxxx-gateway.com...

| Guest | Re: Vista Shutdown Security Get one of these and leave it on the office chair? http://www.extremescience.com/BiggestSpider.htm If the offender persists place the one of these under the desk... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alligator One way or another you or someone in the office may need advice from here http://www.doityourself.com/scat/cleaningstainremoval I am a great believer in "Natural" remedies ![]() You could use a text based screensaver with "Please do not log me out" or something like that. I know that doesn't sound like much of an idea but it may be just throughtlessness. Steve Riley [MSFT] wrote:
