Saving Animations

Hi. I work in different 3D programs and I have never had this problem before,
and it only happens in Vista.
When I create an image, my programs create the image, and I can save it with
no problem. When I create an animation, the programs need to save the file
after it creates each frame. Vista is blocking those programs from doing
this, and I need to have them allowed to create and save these files
constantly.
I like the security that Vista has, but is there any way to allow just
certain programs to do this while keeping that security feature on for
everything else?

Thanks

We're missing part of the story because Vista allows you to save anything as
many times as you want.

You have forgotten to give us the names and versions of the "different 3D
programs" and also where these programs are trying to save. I suspect that:

1. These are older programs that aren't completely compatible with Vista.

2. That because these are older programs they coded to save the animations
to a temporary file to which Vista restricts access. There is a big
difference between you actively saving a file and a program saving to a
temp file, for example as Photoshop does to a "scratch" disk.

If this was an accurate guess, you have a few choices:

1. Go to the various programs' websites and see if there are workarounds,
patches, upgrades.

2. Use different programs that are truly compatible with Vista.

3. Change the programs' temporary working directory to one to which you have
unrestricted access.

If you need more help, post back with missing information about the
programs' names, versions, and what their working temporary directories
are.
