FCS stop working (Vista 64 SP1)

Hi,

i installed fcs as standalone on my new windows vista x64 sp1. the
installation went fine, without any error.
i then update the fcs using windoiws update, and all i ok.
then suddenly, when i tried to open fcs, it open the console for few
secondes, and then close the console and the fcs.
i tried to open again but the same, it will alowayes show the console for
few secondes and then close it all (console, tray icon, and fcs app)

what is the problem? is it not supported to be installed on vista 64 sp1?
how can i solve my problem

thansk in advance

What else is installed on the node? There are a number of Microsoft programs
that do not work and play well together. If one is installed, even after a
successful install once you actually try to run the non-compatible program -
it will start, notice the problem then close.

Re: FCS stop working (Vista 64 SP1)

i formated my pc, install vista 64 with sp1, office 2007, ms dynamics gp, bo
crystal report xi r2, realplayer 11, winrar
i also tried the compatibility option but the same.
when i restart my pc, the fcs will be shown in the system tray as its
working. if i try to open it, it will show the console for seconds and then
shut down. if i didn't open it, and go through internet and catch a virus, it
give me warning about the virus/trojan, but if i chose more info instead of
smart clean it will also close the console.

i installed the fcs on other pcs with windows xp sp3 or vista 32 sp1, and it
work without any problems, although there were same programs installed on
these pcs.

Re: FCS stop working (Vista 64 SP1)

Hello,

Do you mean that the "Forefront Client Security" console crashed after you
tried to open it? Were there any error messages showing up before the
console closed?

I would like to suggest that you post "Forefront Client Security" related
issues in our Forefront forum. People there have better knowledge on this
and they may share some useful information with you.

Thank you for your understanding and I hope this will be resolved soon.

Sincerely,
George Yin

Re: FCS stop working (Vista 64 SP1)

the console will close after few seconds from opining it, without any error
or message, even the event viewer didn't show anything

i already posted in that forum,
http://forums.technet.microsoft.com/...2-3a8b8c480597
but no one answer, or even view the question :-)

Re: FCS stop working (Vista 64 SP1)

Hello,

I am sorry to say that we have little knowledge on the Forefront Client and
may not help you efficiently find the root cause and resolve the issue. As
you have posted in the Forefront forum and got no response, I would like to
suggest that you contact our Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS)
for this. You can speak directly with a Microsoft Support Professional to
analyze the problem. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support
Services phone numbers and information about support costs, please go to
the following address on the World Wide Web:

Thank you for your understanding and I hope this will be resolved soon.
