Vista security blocking my virus scanner

I recently installed the RC1 build and wanted to install F-Secure Client
Security as well. The installation went fine and everything seems to be
working except the update function. Vista blocks the automatic updater at
startup and after that the manual wont work (obviously neither does the
automatic one).

It says the updater is not classified yet. Is there any way to let it run?

Re: Vista security blocking my virus scanner

Due to many new security implications, "your" antivirus of choice must be
made to be compatible with Windows Vista, not the other way around. Every
company went through the same thing when Windows XP was introduced. The
companies knew they had to do this but many held off until XP went gold
(RTM).

Right now, the best antivirus for Vista is Avast ver 4.7 (beta for Vista).
It works, and this company has made changes to their product in a timely
fashion to match the requirements of the evolving Vista changes.

RE: Vista security blocking my virus scanner

Disable Defender and wait for MS to redesign that thing to let users decide
which programs are allowed what.
