Turning Off Windows Defender Real-Time

I now have 2 antispyware programs installed on my computer with one sunning
in real-time
monitoring. so I have disabled (unchecked) the 'Use real-time protection in
Windows Defender options.
Yet, Windows defender still runs at startup and is in the msconfig's
Startup tab's list.
Is this normal?

Re: Turning Off Windows Defender Real-Time

I've turned it back on.
Can't hurt to have extra protection.

If you have MSSE installed too and want to shut its real time
protection off for when running games, as I do, then it also shuts
down Defender at the same time.
