| Guest | HowTo delete app compat. settings? HI! Vista has automagically made some compatibility settings for some applications, namely "ElevateCreateProcess". How can I delete these settings (I want to try again with a different version of the apps)? I can see them in the Compatibility Wizard and in the Application Compatibility Manager (from ACT 5.0). But neither of them seem to be able to delete these settings. Thanks! Thomas |

| Guest | Re: HowTo delete app compat. settings? I think you want to use the program sdbinst.exe in the windows system32 folder. Usage: sdbinst [-?] [-q] [-u] [-g] [-p] [-n[:WIN32|WIN64]] foo.sdb | {guid} | "name" -? - print this help text. -p - Allow SDBs containing patches. -q - Quiet mode. No message boxes will appear. -u - Uninstall. -g {guid} - GUID of file (uninstall only). -n "name" - Internal name of file (uninstall only). -- Josh You never know what you might learn - http://windowsconnected.com "Thomas Boerkel" <thomas@boerkel.de> wrote in message news:OfmeorsDHHA.4312@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > HI! > > Vista has automagically made some compatibility settings for some > applications, namely "ElevateCreateProcess". > > How can I delete these settings (I want to try again with a different > version of the apps)? > > I can see them in the Compatibility Wizard and in the Application > Compatibility Manager (from ACT 5.0). Hmm, as far as I understand, this tool is to install and uninstall user compatibility databases. But I have not installed such a thing. I am looking to remove the compatibility settings, that Vista itself has done. Thomas |
