We are in BIG troubles guys !!!!

Hi,

I think we are in big trouybles with Vista RTM.
I "love" the product and install ot witout any trouble BUT when you begin to
install what you need problems are coming.
UAC is not the spource of the problem for me (I think).
I disable it to be sure to be able to install "correctly" some application
not yet compatible with Vista (may be it is the point ... application are not
compatible !).
I saw many person complaining about "access denied" problem, "don't have
permission" problem, and so on after installing "microsoft" program ... so is
there a big "hole" ?
Personnaly, for instance, I have many directoriess where I can't write back.
I get "you don't have permission to do this" ... and I'm administrator.
Now, I have a problem with Thunderbird and try to re-install. DAMNED !! I
can't re-install. The installer say "Access denied" !!!

I really hope to hear from Guys working to microsoft and give us some way to
recolve that or ... mays be give us a first litle service pack for Vista ...

I really hope to have news because I'm a little bit stuck and become nervous
:-)

Waiting from you ... THANKS !

Pierre

Why post this in multiple newsgroups? That only confuses folks trying to
follow the discussion. Pick one newsgroup/forum and stay with it.

Re: We are in BIG troubles guys !!!!

Sorry I don't know exactly where to post because it (for me ) a security
issue or an installation issue may be a setup ...
If you want, delete the subject where you think it is inapropriate.

regards

.... and if you have an answer or a advice ...

you're stupid. Becase if you disable the UAC, you loose also the file and
registry virtualization needed to work bad designed applications.

Pierre

Some programs and drivers will not install on Vista because they have code
in them which looks for specific operating systems.. before installing
anything, it is not a bad idea to check and see if a Vista version is on the
way..

Answered elsewhere. I'll leave it to you to find it. This is the problem
with multi posting. You (and everyone else) has to search several news
groups to find the replies.

Re: We are in BIG troubles guys !!!!

Hi,

Be sure I have search the news but didn't find a topic discussing "exactly"
about my problem of "You need permission to perform this action" ... and
"Access Denied" when you try to install something.

Best regards

Pierre

Re: We are in BIG troubles guys !!!!

I meant that you had multi-posted the same question to many newsgroups. This
makes it hard for others to find the answers. It is rare that you need to
post a question to more than one group. If you feel you must post to more
than one group then cross-posting to a few select groups is better than
multi-posting.
