Vista - error code 0x8024400a

I cannot seem to update Vista RC-1 build 5728 32 bit version nor Defender
I keep getting "error code 0x8024400a"
I looked at the help section and it states a b or c error but no a error.
Can anyone help on this??

Are you getting the updates from a W2K3? Then this article may apply:

Thanks for the response.............
I am not running a W2 server in any way or shape.Just a simple home network
thru a wireless router with the Vista system being wired to the Netgear
Router.I also have an XP SP2 system wired to the same router and have no
problem updating that.
All other programs on the Vista system update...just not the Vista OS nor
Defender.
That is the only error message I get from both update attempts.
any thoughts???

My understanding is that RC1 is no longer supported for Windows
updates.
