Removed Norton but it still appears in the security settings

I decided to remove Norton 60 days free trial and used the Norton removal
tool. SYMnrt or something.

When I open windows vista security settings Norton still appears under
malware and firewall. It says that I am running two firewalls and two
anti-virus. I have used the removal twice now and still no avail. I am
using windows firewall and AVG free. I had been on the internet with windows
firewall off as no alerts had been initiated as the system thinks Norton is
running. Can anyone help please? Vista Home Preium on new laptop yesterday.
Thanks

Was it the updated version for use with VISTA?

If not they have a procedure for updating to the VISTA compatible
version and maybe you need to install the compatible version (it's
complete and asks you to uninstall earlier Norton if it finds one) and
then I'd remove it in Add/Remove Programs first. If that does not do a
complete job then Norton have a tool to clean up.

Oh well!

I meant was the edition of Norton the revised one for VISTA or the XP
version? If the XP version I was suggesting to install the VISTA
version and then uninstall it?
