| Guest | Onecare Firewall and Vista Ulitmate This is strange, if I turn on Vista Firewall I can connect to the internet however if WHENEVER I turn on OneCare, even with default settings, everything is blocked, i'm on a Private network, its set on Automatic but whenever I use OneCare boom everything disconnects, even IE and i'm offline... I get a message every now and then about Policy could be stopping me, but i've looked in the Policy section in Administration tools and there all at default and looking good. Also, In the Security Center it says "Two or more firewalls running at the same time can conflict with each other" but whenever Windows is off it still happens.. Anyone else having this problem?? If anyone has an idea to this please let me know, thank you. |

The OneCare team is actively working to identify the cause of this problem and provide a fix, either in the form of an update pushed or via a posting on the OneCare forums or both. The current workaround is to disable the OneCare firewall and enable the Vista firewall. Do not use the workaround circulating about opening protocols in the firewall as this will be the same as turning off the firewall for most Internet traffic, with OneCare reporting that you are protected. Worse, if the fix is a pushed software update you will remain unprotected until you remove the rules you added for those protocols. -steve -- Stephen Boots MVP Windows Live Windows Live OneCare Forum Moderator sboots@mvps.org |

| Guest | Re: Onecare Firewall and Vista Ulitmate Thanks Stephen, I was hoping it wasn't a problem on my end because it was driving me crazy.
