Freeware adblocker for VISTA IE7 ?

Does anyone know a free ad-blocker for IE7 under VISTA -- I had a good
one in NIS2007 on XP but so far it is not available for VISTA although
I see they have just added:

<< The Norton Internet Security Add-on Pack is currently only available
for the Windows XP operating system. Norton Internet Security Add-on
Pack that is compatible with Windows Vista will be available by 30
March 2007. >>

But if anyone has suggestions for a good ad-blocker I'd be grateful.

PS Not a pop-up blocker but an ad-blocker .....

Try AdMuncher. I've had a lot of luck with this.

Me too. Not freeware, though....

But AdMuncher does not run with IE7 until you disable IE7 Protected Mode
and - for the Autostart feature - UAC.

I've had to do neither of these, FYI. I have UAC enabled and IE7 is in
Protected Mode and AdMuncher works just fine.

Re: Freeware adblocker for VISTA IE7 ?

How do you manage to get Ad Muncher working at Autostart? My Vista Ultimate
always tells me that it "blocked some unknown software from starting up" (I
thing because admuncher.exe is not signed)

Re: Freeware adblocker for VISTA IE7 ?

Thanks -- I'll check that out .... for cost <g>

PS I've checked their website -- it does not mention any fee; is it
free or not?

It doesn't mention VISTA either even for waht they call a new version.

Sorry, I recently looked and Ad Muncher was all I found that worked well,
free or not. My reply was brief, it was late for me

It looks like it's $25. The download is a 30 day trial.

I'm not sure why it isn't blocked for me. Try Start>defender and hit <Enter>
to launch Windows Defender. Then, in Defender, go to Tools and then Software
Explorer, and click Show for All Users. Elevate, and then find AdMuncher on
the left and hit the Enable button on the right. Hopefully that works for
you.

Re: Freeware adblocker for VISTA IE7 ?

Thanks for the extra information -- I only looked hurriedly.

I had an email from someone suggesting AdAware which I have a licensed
copy of and have been using in XP but I never turned on the Ad related
part of it so I don't know what it really does.
