| | do I have a keylogger or not? xoftspy tells me that I have a keylogger called PCTattletale but windows defender doesnt pick it up nor does Norton 2007 protection centre nor does Hijackthis nor spybot S&D so do i have it or not? In a recent post a user told me that it must have been installed manually if it is there but I havent installed anything other than the os and office (apart from of course the antispy progs I have mentioned) Is PCTattletale a part of the parental control software in Vista? |

Here is the PCTattletale software website: http://www.pctattletale.com/ And here is the Symantec information page and how to remove it: http://sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/s...attletale.html Yes, it is a keylogger but it had to be installed by someone. -- Dustin Harper dharper@vistarip.com http://www.vistarip.com -- "T5" <noanswer@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:7663B899-AB53-499E-8AEA-A7D883AA0A9D@microsoft.com... > xoftspy tells me that I have a keylogger called PCTattletale but windows > defender doesnt pick it up nor does Norton 2007 protection centre nor does > Hijackthis nor spybot S&D so do i have it or not? > > In a recent post a user told me that it must have been installed manually > if it is there but I havent installed anything other than the os and > office (apart from of course the antispy progs I have mentioned) > > Is PCTattletale a part of the parental control software in Vista? |

Xoftspy should have given you a path to where the supposed file is. Is Xoftspy certified for Vista? I think it is far more likely that this is a false-positive. Find the file that Xoftspy is reporting and contact Xoftspy's tech support for further help. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User |

| | Re: do I have a keylogger or not? I'm pretty sure that this is a false positive. This subject came up a couple of months ago and I think that is what the conclusion was. Try searching for it in the microsoft.public.windows.vista.general group - I'm pretty sure it was in there. -- /* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Robert Firth * * Windows Vista x86 RTM * * http://www.WinVistaInfo.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * */ "Malke" <notreally@invalid.invalid> wrote in message news:ehGXX56UHHA.5060@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > T5 wrote: >> how would I find the program?
