Avast Issues On Vista Basic Home Edition

I have just got a new PC with microsoft vista home edition. Avast was
recommended by someone to me, installed the software and I have a copule of
issues.

- Message comes up saying 'This driver has been blocked due to compatability
problems?

- I can also not accsess avast and it also seem to block net accsess, could
this be because the 30day trial of Mcafee is still installed on the computer?
Would it best to remove both programmes(using add and remove programmes, then
try re-installing avast again?

Uninstall McAfee completely. Then make sure the Windows Firewall is on.
Uninstall Avast completely. Reinstall Avast.
