Virus masqeurading as an Error message ??

Error: An Extended Memory Manager is already installed. XMS Driver not
installed.

This is the error message that I get in a black background box after I log
on to windows XP. The header of the box is the following

Docume~1\Default\Locals~1\Temp\stmreco.exe

Also when I try to exit from this box there are little underscores _ that
move all around the box.

In addition this causes my printer to to endlessly print thee Error message
above, 2 to a page, on my printer.

To me this seems more like a virus than an error message.

Please help if you can.

Re: Virus masqeurading as an Error message ??

To be honest, you posted this in the wrong newsgroup. This newsgroup topic
is Windows Vista (microsoft.public.windows.vista.security). Don't worry,
that is fine, but you might get more help if you post in the appropriate
newsgroup. Try "microsoft.public.windowsxp.general".

As for your problem, it seems like something odd is going on although I
can't be certain what exactly.
