| | Security and booting Hello, I just deployed my first Windows Vista computer and the user I deployed to uses an external USB floppy drive and an external USB hard drive. This user also uses a KVM switch and a USB printer. When the USB floppy drive and USB hard drive are attached to the computer Windows Vista will not boot. When I remove these devices Windows Vista boots fine. So, is there a security setting in Windows Vista or maybe a setting in the BCD that is causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Are you sure the boot settings in the BIOS still allow the internal hard disk to boot? |

| | RE: Security and booting Jesper, Thanks for the post. I went into BIOS and changed the boot sequence so that the internal hard drive is first, the CD/DVD drive is second, the external floppy third, and the USB device fourth. I attached the external devices and rebooted. Windows Vista booted fine. Thanks SO MUCH!!!
