| | How to relate personal laptop to work domain I have a personal laptop that I would like to connect to a domain at work. The only thing I'll be using the domain for is printer access, internet access, and access to some data folders where I can save documents for others to see. What are some ways I could do this while still maintaining the integrity of my personal profile? |

| | Re: How to relate personal laptop to work domain I believe it's allowed to share profile between domain and local. Though they can co-exist on the same machine. Maybe I was wrong.... But I have tried many way but unsuccessful, I have to log off the local and log in the domain. | | Re: How to relate personal laptop to work domain Do I need to log in to the domain in order to have access to the domain printer and internet? As for the directories on a domain hard drive, could I map to this without logging in? I do have an account on the domain. Ed |

You should talk to whoever administers the domain if there is a problem, as they will obviously know far more about how they've configured the network than a bunch of random people on the Internet. You should be able to connect to those resources and just supply your domain credentials when asked for a username and password. Supply domain credentials with the username in one of the two following formats: "domain-name\username" or "username@mydomainname.fully.qualified.dns.name.com" |
