Re: file security

Yes. File security IS a good thing. There are not many computers these days
that are NOT used by more than one person. If each person has their own
account, their files are kept separate from yours. You are not the only one
using a computer. The system has been designed for what the majority of
users do with their computers.

Try to delete the file through the program that created the file. It is
likely "that" program that has the file locked.

Re: file security

IT IS MY PC I AM THE ONLY USER SO I SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION.I HAD TO REINSTALL
VISTA TWICE SINCE IVE HAD IT.I T WOULD NOT LET ME DELETE THE TWO WINDOWS OLD
FOLDERS CONTAINING ABOUT 16 GIG WORTH OF DATA.I CHANGED THE SECURITY SETTINGS
TO ALLOW FULL ACCESS IT STILL WOULD NOT LET ME DELETE THE COMPLETE FOLDERS,I
HAD TO DELETE FILES INDIVIDUALLY.BUT THEN I USED DISK CLEANUP AND IT DELETED
EVERYTHING WITHOUT FILE SECURITY WARNINGS WHY?

WHY do people like YOU love using caplock ALL the time.
(1)Does it make to the text look better? (2)Does it make people want to read
it more and give you a reply? (3)Does it show your ignorance and stupidity?

Re: file security

garbea01:
When you are running "Disk Cleanup", you are running as an
administrator. The administrator has rights to delete. Where the confusion
starts is that with XP by default everybody was running as an administrator
at all times, but with Vista you are a user with administrative rights or a
standard user and you are prompted when an administrator is needed. Try not
to use all caps, it causes less flaming.

certain files but still i cannot delete them.Is there any way of having total
