Internetbanking fails in Vista Beta 2

While trying to connect to my internetbank, by trying to download my
certificate, (it says it uses a microsoft activex and if prompted, i have to
accept it) the process is halted, without any further progress. Might this be
a BETA-issue or is there some setting in IE 7+that has to be modified first
for the activex to be downloaded and installed?
Thanks

RE: Internetbanking fails in Vista Beta 2

It could be the IE7 reporting as IE7... alot of banks dont like that yet.
There is a post somewhere on here on how to make IE7 report as IE6 to
websites.. it helped me with wellsfargo.

Or the use of SSL 2.0. Try to check that option under the advanced tab.

Re: Internetbanking fails in Vista Beta 2

I would suggest caution in modifications possibly affecting Windows security
especially when personal financial information is involved.

Personally, if a 3rd party tweak is needed, I want nothing to do with it
where it concerns my finances etc.

Have the same issue with my bank. I'm using Firefox for internet banking.
Works fine!

Re: Internetbanking fails in Vista Beta 2

Dear all,

Check if your internet banking requires the installation of JAVA.
Some banking requires Java to run properly. Note that Java has
to be manually installed from Windows XP onwards.

Thanks

Re: Internetbanking fails in Vista Beta 2

On IE7 / Vista, TLS is enabled by default. Thus, if you are trying to connect
to a website which is using SSL, it should be supporting TLS and TLS
extensions.

Re: Internetbanking fails in Vista Beta 2

Contact the bank directly and ask about IE-7 and Vista support.
I am sure the answer will be they do not support Beta products on their web
site.
That would be prudent policy when dealing with the finances, privacy etc of
their customers.
