It's a log file from the installation of that update through windows update. Take ownership of the folder and files therein, then give your account appropriate permissions on it, then delete it. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |

I have deleted them after a reboot if the update has been successful. No point in having those folders hanging around. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |

| | Re: Strange file can no delete How did you do deletion in detail ? I also have these strange files, and in case with my login as a member of Adminitrator group, I assume I should be able to delete. But NO GO. I can not even read the contents of the folder. Right click on the folder, Properties, Security tab, and go from there. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |

| | RE: Strange file can no delete Im getting the same errors, but they only appear if i open the file (in my case run games) and the try to replace/delete the game files. I think that this has sth to do with the file being open somwhere or vista detecting as it would be open somewhere, try reboting and deleting the file without opening other folders/programs "Chris" wrote: > Hi, > > After a clean vsta Ultimate install (40 days ago +-), still got a stange > folder in the c:\ main drive. > Called a32f966cf............etc.. > Inside there is a text file called > msxml4-KB927978-enu file (278kb) > > I can NOT delete this file, WHY?¿ > What is this file a rest of any installed KB file¿? > How can a delete this file¿? > When I click on it, acces DENIED > When I try to delete it, no acces granted need permision (i am unique user). > > Thanks > > Chris > > |
