| Newbie Rep Power: 12 ![]() | surprisingly enough, when I used Mozilla Firefox i was able to go th the websites that IE7 cannot go to (i.e. paypal and amazon). Recap: Win XP w/ IE6 has no issues with the certificates Win Vista w/ Firefox has no issues with the certificates Win vista w/ IE7 prior to 25 April 2007 has no issues with the certificates Win vista w/ IE7 after 25 April 2007 has MAJOR issues with the certificates It is definitely a problem with Vista/IE7 |

| Guest | Re: VISTA - IE7 SECURITY CERTIFICATE ERROR Yup... I think there was an update in March... after that update, IE7 had major problems. These sites include major sites, so it's an IE7 problem. Have no problem surfing with Firefox. This is very frustrating. I cannot surf many important sites ... Anybody have a fix other than quitting IE7 entirely and using Firefox? |

| Guest | Re: VISTA - IE7 SECURITY CERTIFICATE ERROR I'm having the exact same problem, with MANY major websites, and the problem started occurring recently (my new Dell with Vista was browsing fine until about a week ago). Paul Adare's reply is a little dismissive. The certificates for these major sites are fine (Ebay, PayPal, etc.), or they wouldn't be in business. I'm able to use them fine from my portable computer with IE7 and Windows XP. I'm not seeing many reports of this problem on the web yet, but there are a few, like this one, that are begginning to crop up. We're stumbling onto a new Vista problem, it seems, and I can only hope someone will post a soluction soon. I've gotten used to IE7, and really don't want to start using another browser. As I requested previously, can someone please post one of these URLs. Without access to one of the URLs causing the problem, there is no way to give a validated answer. Brian |

Previous versions did not enable revocation checking automatically (you had to turn it on). Can you please provide some sample URLs where you are getting the error? Brian |

(I guess it is too much too ask in this thread!!) Not to pick on one person, but if everyone would quit the me toos! and actually post a URL, maybe we could determine what the cause of the issue is! Microsoft's aware of the problem, as described here: http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,76...1/article.html To fix it, correct the time on your system. You can also bring up the Date and Time applet, select "Internet Time" then "Change Settings" and select "update now". I'd recommend changing the time server to something that Microsoft can't corrupt. -- Daniel |
