VISTA - IE7 SECURITY CERTIFICATE ERROR

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A HP TABLET PC WITH VISTA HOME PREMIUM.

WHEN I LOAD IE 7 AND TRY TO CREATE A PROFILE TO REGISTER MY TABLET PC ON
HP.COM.SG/REGISTER IT DOES NOT GIVE ME PERMISSION TO ACCESS THAT WEBSITE. THE
ERROR MESSAGE IS BELOW:

"QUOTE"
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
This organization's certificate has been revoked.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or
intercept any data you send to the server.
"END QUOTE"

I have tried the help information on the microsoft support site but this
does not seem to be helpful. I would be greatful if you would be able to find
me a solution to this problem.

This is not a Vista problem, this is a problem with the certificate issued
to the HP web site. You're going to need to contact HP to get this issue
resolved.

Re: VISTA - IE7 SECURITY CERTIFICATE ERROR

DEAR PAUL,

HOW CAN IT BE A PROBLEM WITH THE CERTIFICATE ISSUED TO THE HP SITE AS THIS
PARTICULAR WEBSITE WORKS FLAWLESSLY ON MACHINES WHICH RUN IE7 IN XP. IT IS
ONLY THE MACHINES THAT RUN IE7 IN VISTA THAT CAUSE THIS ERROR, THEREFORE IT
CANNOT BE A PROBLEM WITH HP.

First of all, please turn off your Caps Lock. Using all caps in online
communications is considered to be shouting and rude.

The instance of IE 7 that is causing the problem is configured to check the
revocation status of the certificate, the other instances of IE 7 are not.
The problem is definitely HP's. If the certificate is revoked that means it
should no longer be accepted.

Re: VISTA - IE7 SECURITY CERTIFICATE ERROR

Hi. I'm having the same problem for many sites.

All of a sudden a couple weeks ago, I started getting error messages related
to revoked certificates.

Some of these sites include MICROSOFT. I can surf fine in Mozilla Firefox
but not in IE7 (under VISTA).

There has to be an easier way. These revoked certificates are from major
websites like HP, MSN etc etc.

Best,
Daniel

Can you provide actual URLs where you are having these issues.
Also, can you be more specific as to the error you are seeing. The error
you provide is way to vague.

Count me in, too! About four or five days ago these Certificate Errors have been popping up like crazy! At at least five sites that I had previously been able to access with no problem. This is NOT a site problem, but a Windows Vista problem. Obviously, one of their recent updates has a bug in it. Where to I find the fix?

same issue

Starting yesterday (26 Apr 07) I started recieveing the revoked certificate issue. I an using Windows Vista anf IE7 on my new computer. I still have my old computer also running XP and IE6. When I went to https://www.paypal.com (https://www.x.com) on my Vista machine I get the revocation error (no chance to "click here to go th the page" link, only "click here to close page" link). After a frustrating 30 minute trying to get the page to display, trying everything in my limited experience to get it to work (like going as far as turning off all the internet protection, puting all security setting on as low as possable, adding site to trusted sites and overiding automatic cookie handling) i had to boot up my old machine and complete my transation. Today I tried to log into my amazon account (https://www.amazon.com/gp/css/histor...heres-my-stuff) I get the same problem from Vista IE7. WHATS THE DEAL????

Re: VISTA - IE7 SECURITY CERTIFICATE ERROR

This seems to be obviously a Vista problem... I can't get into AOL, SBC,
AT&T consistently without this error message showing up on IE7, yet I can in
Firefox... I would think that these corporations keep their certificates up
to date, don't you? And if they don't, it should be up to me to click
through to them. I don't even have the option to click through! Is this my
computer or microsoft's????
